Gerardot & Co. marketing collateral brochure design for Shiel Sexton

Building Collateral

Design of marketing collateral and proposal system empowers Indianapolis commercial construction firm.

Shiel Sexton, a commercial construction firm, contacted Gerardot & Co. to design a flexible marketing collateral system they could customize for client recruitment and project bid proposals. As all good project managers do, the firm also had a list of other specific requirements, including:

  1. It should feature construction projects from each of the firm’s eight areas of expertise.
We directed photography for over 16 building projects in a 100-mile radius. We also included profiles of prominent executives that use these facilities, because peoples’ lives are not about buildings—buildings are about peoples’ lives.
  2. It should be tabbed and easy for prospective clients to navigate and read.
We designed a tabbed, color-coded system with clear and distinctive titles for each area of expertise.
  3. The finished book should feel “substantial” but “not too nice.”
The design of the book called for rugged book board, scored and drilled and ready for construction. Each book is assembled by hand and bound with threaded binding posts.
  4. Most of all, it needed to stand out in a sea of other bid proposals.
While we’ve not seen all other construction companys’ proposal materials, we did diligently research other firms. Suffice it to say, Shiel Sexton rises to the top of every bid list.
