What a trip. Destination Marketing in HD
Over the years, Gerardot & Co. has earned a reputation for its expertise in place branding and destination marketing, especially for luxury real estate, tourism and hospitality. We recently had the pleasure of taking a team to the Bahamas to to create a series of HD video “Webisodes” to promote tourism in the Out Islands. The first stop on our three week island adventure was the tiny chain of Bimini.

Whether it’s branding a city, promoting state tourism, or marketing real estate, the first rule of place branding is to find that one thing (a hook) that makes a destination completely unique and then bring it to life.
In addition to boat cruising, fishing and of course being the inspiration for Hemingway’s “Islands in the Stream”, we soon discovered that Bimini’s ‘hook’ was its wild mysterious side. Black magic, the Fountain of Youth, the road to Atlantis and sunken rum runner ships… this island was packed with more character than most destination marketing agencies dream about. Watch the HD video and view the crew shots below.

You might be surprised to hear this, especially from a designer. Your new logo design won’t bring you more customers. A clever new tagline won’t bring more visitors to your city. Smart paper choices can help save the environment and save your budget. Ten years ago, I wouldn’t have given it a second thought, but once you understand the impact that even a single product catalog like this one has on the environment (above and beyond the number of trees you’re killing) the math is difficult to ignore.
